I worked together with Jess and Alex for about 4 months prior to the wedding, helping them source the last of their suppliers, tying up loose ends and creating a really detailed schedule for the day of. They came to me with three things that were important to them: food, drinks and music. Jess, the bride, didn’t have many requests throughout our time working together and was always as laid back as a person could possibly be. She created a Pinterest board, along with spreadsheets and she was always extremely organised and responsive.
Jess and Alex selected the Century Club as their wedding venue because they were looking for something modern and unique so, what other place to look than right in the heart of Central London? The wedding ceremony took place in the largest space located in the Heart of the Club, the 'Green Room'. It is a beautifully unique and stylish space, with exposed brick walls, it's own bar and lots of natural light coming from the windows overlooking Shaftesbury Aveune and St Anne's Churchyard. Bloaum Studio created the most amazing asymmetric flower columns for the ceremony backdrop, after the ceremony we moved them to the roof terrace where the reception was being held. The roof terrace has been named the largest in Soho, it has a fully retractable glass roof making it the perfect space for a summer wedding.
One of the things I loved most about this wedding, was the fact that it was a direct reflection of Jess and Alex. They really did away with all of the traditional “rules” and just made the day a celebration of their marriage. Guests enjoyed Aperol Spritz welcome drinks, delicious canapés, a large selection of bowl food and an open bar. Jess had no bridesmaids, and both her parents walked her down the aisle. The guests used polaroid cameras instead of signing a traditional guest book.
Jess and Alex kept their decor simple and clean while adding in a sense of class and taste. They chose colours and designs that complimented the spaces while keeping a modern and contemporary feel. Green and whites along with a pop of gold made the ceremony room and fit in perfectly with the collection of plants on the roof.
It was a pleasure to work with a few new companies as well as other companies we are really familiar with. Jess did a great job of pulling together just the right people for her special day. Take a look at the stunning photos, captured by Richard Payne Photography:
